Council Quilt Show

The Council Quilt Show has been organized in Idaho for the last 20 years. Organized at the old Adams County Courthouse building, this event that goes on for a month has become an annual celebration of quilts and quilting that many enthusiasts look forward to.

Event Details:

This years theme  is "Christmas in July". All entries must reflect Christmas in some way. There are no size requirements this year. Each entry must also include a brief paragraph describing why the entry fits the theme. 

Each entry needs a completed entry form sent in by June 10th. If you choose to mail your entries in this year they must also reach us by June 15th.  Entry forms and/or quilts should be sent to Council Quilt Show, P.O. Box 238 Council, ID 83612 or emailed to  Council Quilt Show (pfisk@ctcweb.net).  Entries should be brought to the Elementary School on Saturday June 16th and Sunday June 17th. Entries will be accepted from 10:00 to 4:00 p.m. each day. 

We are raffling off a beautiful quilt that was pieced by several members of the Council Quilt Show Committee, and was hand quilted by patty Gross of Council. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. 

We are hosting a challenge block contest again this year. Entries should reflect our theme of "Christmas in July". Packets are available at  Council Valley Free Library, here in Council or  you can email us and we will send you one. The packet is $2.00.

We will be offering a class on June 23th. The class will be taught by Joyce Cambron of Boise, Idaho. Joyce will be teaching her "Spinning Cartwheels" pattern. The cost of the class is $25.00. Email for information. 

Entries are voted on by Viewers Choice. We will be continuing our community awards. For a $25.00 fee you can come in the night before the show opens and choose your favorite quilt. The person who entered the quilt gets $20.00 prize money and the quilt is marked with your business or groups name. If you would like to participate, please email us . .

Overview: This show has become so popular that there are entries from all corners of the country, and there are entries offering various styles. Both hobby quilting enthusiasts as well as professionals come to attend this show in Idaho.

Details: If you love to quilt, you should at least spend 1 day at the show, if you cannot give more time. Or if you take quilting more seriously, then why not sign up and put in your entry? This is the best place to exhibit your talents and exchange notes with the professionals.
