  "FOUR SEASONS"

29th Council Quilt Show

It's time to get ready for the 2013 Council Quilt Show.

This will be the 29th year that we have hosted a quilt show here in Council.

This year we will open on WEDNESDAY, June 19th and will close on  FRIDAY, July 5th.

 As in past years we will be open 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day.

This year's show will be held again at the Council Elementary School in the mufti-purpose room.

Please drive carefully and slowly when you enter the parking lot. There are activities going on

during the summer and so there will be children out there as part of the parking lot is also the playground.

The Council area has some wonderful and interesting shops to visit.

The local museum, rich in the history of the area, is open five days a week.

The surrounding areas are filled with beautiful mountains to explore,

clear streams for fishing, and lots of wildlife to view.

 During the 4th of July weekend,  festivities include our annual porcupine race, a parade,

 a logging contest,  and lots of food and craft vendors.

This years theme  is "FOUR SEASONS". All entries must reflect at least one season. You may, of course,

use your entry to depict more than one season.

There are no size requirements this year. Each entry must also include a brief paragraph

describing why the entry fits the theme.

Each entry needs a completed entry form sent in by June 7th. This helps us with our planning.

However, quilts will be accepted as long as we have space available

If you choose to mail your entries in this year they must also reach us by June 14th.

Entry forms and/or quilts should be sent to Council Quilt Show, P.O. Box 238 Council, ID 83612 or

 emailed to  Council Quilt Show.  Entries should be brought to the Elementary School on Saturday June 15th and Sunday June 16th.

Entries will be accepted from 10:00 to 4:00 p.m. each day

We are raffling off a beautiful quilt that was pieced by several members of the Council Quilt Show Committee,

and was quilted by the Council High School Textile class. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.

We are hosting a Challenge Block contest again this year. Entries should reflect our theme of "FOUR SEASONS".

Packets are available at the Council Valley Free Library or we can mail you one.

Entries are voted on by Viewers Choice. We will be continuing our community awards.

 For a $25.00 fee you can come in the night before the show opens and choose your favorite quilt.

 The person who entered the quilt gets $20.00 prize money and
