Watch for free from a river bank at Riggins as jet boat racers from Canada, Mexico, New Zealand & the U.S.A. compete in the final legs of the 2012 U.S.A. World Jet Boat Championship! Don't miss the action as jet boats race up to 140 mph on one of Idaho's most thrilling whitewater rivers!

Overview: The Salmon river is referred to as 'The River of No Return'. The rapids are excellent, just what thrill seekers want. The Salmon River Jet Boat Races are held in April and the jet boat races have become very popular over the last 20 odd years. The race is actually spread over 7 legs, and here at Riggins in Idaho, this is the 1st one.

Where: The Salmon River outside of Riggins Idaho
Fees: Free for the public to view
Details: It is organized by the Salmon River Chamber of Commerce, and is attended by prominent racing enthusiasts from as far as New Zealand, Mexico, Canada and the US.
Other than the jet boat races, there are also boat shows, raffles, classic cars and BBQ. Attend the races if you are not participating and get some memorabilia.
