There are three ski areas near McCall – Brundage Mountain, Little Ski Hill, and Tamarack Resort. They cater to skiers and snowboarders of all levels.
Only 8 miles north of McCall, Brundage Mountain Ski Resort is regarded by many as having the best snow in Idaho. With annual snowfall averaging over 320 inches, 1500 acres of runs, and a 1,800 foot vertical drop, it’s no wonder this is a very popular ski resort for both locals and visitors. There’s even an additional 19,000 acres that are accessible via SnowCat. Brundage is perfect for all levels of skiers and boarders with 30% of its runs geared to experts, 50% for intermediates, and 20% for beginners.
Open since 1937, this small ski hill is just 3 miles northwest of McCall the only one in the area that offers night skiing. There are no chairlifts, but a T-bar provides access to the area’s alpine hill with a handful of runs and just over 400 feet of vertical terrain. Nordic skiers can access several miles of nicely groomed trails from dawn to dusk. Little Ski Hill caters to all levels of skiers and boarders.
This beautiful mountain resort is just over 19 miles south of McCall. It offers over 2,800 vertical feet of skiing and 25 runs. There are five lifts, including 3 high-speed quads that provide access to over 900 acres. The resort also boasts two terrain parks and an Olympic-sized SuperPipe. The ski area caters to skiers and boarders ranging from beginner to expert level with 41% advanced runs, 44% intermediate runs, and 15% beginner runs. Nordic skiers can explore over 16 miles of trails.
